DETAILED PLAN OF THE CANOE TRIP ROUTE
DADAJ RIVER: KROMEROWO-TUMIANY
Dadaj River, Tumiańskie Lake, Pisz Lake
Lake Dadaj, one of the largest in the Olsztyn Lake District. From here comes the Dadaj River, whose charm is given by its changing “character” from calm among the reeds, to fast and rapid flowing through the forest.
- We launch our kayaks in Kromerowo on the Dadaj River
- We continue to swim across an old arched bridge entering the forest, where after 300 meters the river becomes sharp and rushing. When the water level is low, dangerous stones emerge.
- After 500 meters and overcoming rapids, the Dadaj River slows down again. This is where fallen trees can occur.
- The next point on the route is the power plant at the old mill in Klimkovo, in front of which a spillway has formed. Here we carry the canoes about 10 meters – the right side.
- After passing the Klimkovo power plant, we reach the water threshold (a small waterfall of 0.5m) and flow through it keeping to the right.
- For the next stage of 1km the river flows in a calm current with numerous bends, reaching the village of Tumiany
- Passing the bridge we enter Tumiany Lake (beware of the side wind), keeping to the right side of the shore, after about 300 meters we find the entrance to the channel connecting Tumiany Lake with Pisz Lake
- After passing under the bridge, we enter Lake Pisz, where the “Camping Tumiany” resort is located on the left side and we end our rafting at the marina.
